The North Shore Yacht Club is committed to supporting youth sailing.
High School Sailing Club
Students from Highland Park and Deerfield High Schools and other nearby high schools may join The North Shore Sailing Club. Membership includes a Junior Membership in the North Shore Yacht Club, which supplies the boats and equipment used by the club.
Fall 2015 NSSC will begin sailing each Sunday from August 15th through October 17th. Sailing begins at 11:00 am and ends at 2:00 pm..
Sailing Club members receive instruction and on the water supervision in basic sailing skills and safety practices. Once certified in boats, typically Sunfish and club 420's, youth members may sail for fun on club sailing days as well as at other times, when at least two adult members of North shore Yacht Club are also sailing and aware of their presence. Sail racing instruction and practice is also available for interested members, which includes the opportunity to participate in NSYC club racing and to race competitively against other high school teams.

Regular NSYC Memberships
We encourage parents of young people who want to sail to join the NSYC with a regular membership, which includes Junior Memberships for member's children. That way everyone in the family can enjoy the sailing and social opportunities the club offers. All members including Junior Members must be certified for each boat type by a NSYC Instructor. There are modest separate fees for Adult Sailing Lessons and youth sailing club participation.
